2024 November Newsletter

President's Report

Hello team,

Welcome to our November newsletter.

Unfortunately, weather again dictated our fishing club weekend for October. There were some lovely trout weighed in, Congratulations to Stephen Butcher winning the Heaviest Trout with a weight of 3.060kgs and the 3-bag.

Saltwater fishos again were dictated by the weather. Big congratulations must go to Sharon Cluston who won the Heaviest Snapper with a weight of 2.980kg and the Third Snapper after braving the weather at Kawhia on a Charter Boat.

The prizes on offer were well received. A special thanks going to Daltons for the amazing amount of product they donated, Also, a huge thank you goes to Matamata Directional Drilling, Chooky’s Auto, and Wheelie Bin Services.

Please where possible support our sponsors that support us.

Our Break the Record Fish of the Month, Kahawai was not struck – so in November the Record to Break is a John Dory weighing more than 3.28kg. Give it a go!

Our November competition is a 3-day competition, starting on Friday the 8th, and finishing on Sunday the 10th of November. Let’s hope the weather plays its part. Would be great to see you all at the weigh in on Sunday even if you didn’t go fishing!

We have a huge array of sponsors for this competition.

There is a group of members hoping to go to Houhora, many for the first time. Let’s hope the weather is good and the fish are biting up there!

Wendy and Jacki have done some great work for the club and they have secured Eftpos for our Club nights. There will be no PayWave. Looking forward to this being a great thing for the Club.

The Matamata Christmas Parade is fast approaching, please get your thinking caps on, it’s a great way to get the Club out in the Community and last year was a lot of fun.

All the best for the November competition, fingers crossed for better weather.

Happy fishing,

Phil
