President's Report
Hi, hope all is good with you, wow, as president of our awesome club I was so pleased to see a great turnout for our November competition. I would like to say a special thank you to our committee, they are a fabulous team and believe me, the job of putting that competition together is huge. I would also like to say a big thank you to you the members, without your participation the club would not be what it is, and the fact we get the whole family involved is great. To those who make the effort to get the children and grandchildren out on the water and then come along to the weigh ins, it’s great to see. Once again, we had an amazing line up of prizes and this year had over forty sponsors, the major one for the month of November is of course J Swap Contractors, however they are all fabulous in their own right. Now, as a member I need your support and so do they.
This Christmas and summer, please have a look down our sponsors list which is on every newsletter, and support them. Our sponsors are all made up of “local” businesses and are all locally owned. You might think nothing of shopping out of town, or online but seriously why fatten some one else’s pocket, local is best.
The next competition is on the 1st & 2nd of December and will be another beauty, sponsored by Comag, J Swap Contractors, Golden Flow Honey and of course the lucky member draw for that awesome locally made Viking Kayak.
Come along and bring the kids to see Santa, DON’T forget the gift ah.
If you were at the November comp you would have seen an amazing line up of fish including a huge eel caught by George Harris. On the eel situation we have been asked, if possible, to bring them in alive and we will release them again. This is not a criticism of anybody, it’s an initiative from Environment Waikato to preserve the species. Many thanks, might be a real giggle to watch the weighmaster trying to put them on the scales ah? Once again, many thanks to our November sponsors and see you at the December Christmas Competition.
