President's Report
Hello all, yet another year comes to an end after a successful December competition.
A big thank you goes out to our wonderful sponsors Comag, J Swaps, Indulgence Beauty and Spa, Vercoes, Fairview Motors and Golden Flow Honey.
The prizes for the December competition looked fantastic. Jacki did a wonderful job with the Christmas hampers. Another big thank you must go out to our hardworking committee. Even with a few committee members away last comp, everybody pulled together and got everything done. It is great to see so many passionate people on the committee thriving to make it successful.
Our Christmas parade has been and gone. A big thank you to all that decorated the floats and participated in the parade. It was a lot of fun doing it and a worthwhile exercise for the Fishing Club.
Our next big competition is happening on the 2nd to the 4th of February. It is a 3 day competition, the Friday being open to all species not just game fish as in previous years. Remember if you are going fishing outside of our boundaries please contact a committee person before doing so. Sponsoring our February competition are Bell & Graham Solicitors, Sportsworld, Begovich Builders, Matamata Butchery, Top Crew, Stihl Shop, Phil Stevens Racing and Whitehall Farriers. As you can see we have a great lineup of sponsors for this next competition and it would be so good to see a big game fish weighed in at the Club.
Please remember Matamata Fishing Club members are also social members of the Matamata Clay Target Club and you are welcome to go to their shoots.
