President's Report
Hi, I hope all is good with you, your family, and friends.
Like most you are probably a wee bit sick of the weather, yes it was great for duck hunting, but it certainly had a negative effect on our May competition. Having said that, while the crowd was not large, their enthusiasm was very good with crews like Phil Stephens & Co travelling all the way down to Tangi, south of New Plymouth. They all fished for an awesome line up of prizes so let’s say a great big thankyou to our sponsors: Vercoe Insurance; Fairview Motors; Paul Jones Contracting; and Bell and Graham Solicitors.
Our next competition should be a very good one with late May early June being a good time of the year for catching big snapper. The June competition is well named “The Harry Fort Memorial” with some excellent sponsors: Phil Stephens Racing; di Rosa Cabinetry and Furniture; Whitehall Shoeing Company; Steve and Linda Dench; Kane and Kelsi Fort; and Nulook Windows. Don’t forget, it’s a 3-day weekend taking in Kings Birthday.
Looking forward a bit more to the July competition, this year it’s going to involve hunting again. This competition was such a good event last year we really need to get behind it again. On that note tell as many people as you can, non-members are welcome. We are now only a couple of months away from the prizegiving and AGM, I would love you to give a bit of thought to becoming a committee person, it is very rewarding to become part of a great team and give a little back to a club that gives so much pleasure to its members.
